#heybangor The weather looks great for Friday!

There is nothing like going for a swim on a hot summer day, and one spot has been keeping Bangor residents cool for 20 years.

Back in 2004, the Beth Pancoe Aquatic Center at Hayford Park, first opened its doors and quickly became one of the most popular municipal facilities in Bangor.

A celebration is planned for this Friday, August 2nd, from noon to 2 p.m. to mark the 20th anniversary.

The Aquatic Center will be open for families, and visitors can enjoy a bounce house and other attractions.

The Pancoe Aquatic Center, is a designed a single pool divided into three distinct zones: a zero-depth alcove with interactive water features, a large free swim area that is used for lessons and lap swimming, and a splash down alcove for the water slide.

The bathhouse provides a controlled entry point, support space for staff, mechanical and filtration equipment and toilet and changing facilities.

Of course, it is open for the Summer 2024 season, from 1pm-4:30pm Monday through Sunday for afternoon swims; 12pm-1pm. Monday, Wednesday and Friday for adult swims, and 6pm-7:30pm, Monday, Wednesday and Friday for night swims.
