Want to get rid of those pesky tickets?

Let’s face it, there are few hassles in life that are as annoying as getting a parking ticket. No one can deny that fact.

Another thing about getting a ticket, is that in the day-to-day hustle and bustle of the average person, sometimes you just flat out forget to pay them.

The good folks at the Old Town Police Department, have come up with a creative way to not only erase your winter parking tickets, but one that helps out people in the community too!

If you, or someone you know received a parking ticket during the winter of 2022-2023, you simply make a $10 donation of non-perishable food, that you can drop off at either the Old Town Police Department, at 150 Brunswick Streret, or the Old Town City Hall, at 265 Main Street, and poof! Your tickets are marked as paid in full.

They will then donate the food items collected, and donate them to many of the local food banks, such as Caring Community Cupboard, Penobscot Nation Food Pantry, Cross Roads Ministries Resources, Black Bear Exchange, and Welcome To Housing Home Goods Bank

Donations will also be distributed to schools and churches in the Old Town area.

You may not know that are not many food drives this time of year, which is one of the reasons we do our annual Ton of Pasta event in the month of March, so any and all non-perihsable food donations in any town in Eastern Maine, are greatly needed and appreicated!
