Celebrate 10 years of fun in Bangor, next Sunday!

Lots of people were bummed out when the Bangor Auditorium was torn down back in the day. Of course, when one door closes, another one opens, and in this case, it was a brand spanking new modern building. It was proof positive that Bangor has grown by leaps in bounds in the last 10 or so years.

I was lucky enough to attend my nephews Bangor High School graduation at the Cross Insurance Center in June of 2013. In fact, it was one of the first events held in the new facility. Well, time flies, and here we are celebrating 10 years of amazing events and concerts.

Help them salute a dazzling decade of the Cross Insurance Center at a free Open House, Sunday, September 10th, from 1pm-6pm.

Bring the whole family and enjoy an afternoon of live music, food & drink, tours of the building, bounce houses from Wicked Bounce Inflatables, a face painter and more.

Stick around until the end and finish the afternoon with a free screening of “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids” in the arena. Complimentary popcorn and drinks will be provided throughout the movie.

Don’t forget to grab a passport card and scavenger hunt sheet to complete throughout your tour and enter to win your choice of raffle items at the end!

Here is how the afternoon of events breaks down:

1:00 PM – Open House begins in Paul Bunyan Park! Get your face painted, jump in the bounce house and visit the Caricature Artist or head right into the building and explore!
1:15 PM – Complimentary BBQ prepared by the Food and Beverage team
1:30 PM – Guided Tour with Keith, behind the Paul Bunyan statue
2:00 PM – The Napper Tandies hit the stage in Paul Bunyan Park
2:30 PM – Guided Tour with Keith! Meet behind the Paul Bunyan statue
3:00 PM – Bangor Historical Society presentation of the property over the years in Ballroom 5
4:00 PM – Cross Insurance Center Trivia begins in the arena and building tours end.
4:15 PM – “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids” on the big screen.

Happy Anniversary, Cross Insurance Center! Cheers to many more years to come.

10 Reasons Why Bangor Is Way Better Than Portland
