Did You Know Someone Is Making Wicked Good Chocolate In Hampden?
Sometimes working from home can be awesome.
At the beginning of the pandemic, I worked from home for a few months. Heck, my wife worked from home for the better part of a year. While I enjoyed the novelty of it, ultimately I'd rather be in the office. Mostly because of the inherent technical challenges of doing live radio from my house. Otherwise, I'd have wanted to do it forever.
On the other hand, if your work-from-home job was making food and you had plenty of space to do it, for most culinary workers, that'd be a dream come true. Restaurant kitchens can be loud, brutally hot, and try everyone's patience. And those are the really good days. It's often downhill from there.
Tempest Chocolate is the at-home brainchild of a local Hampden man.
Justin Yarbrough decided working from home in his basement kitchen was exactly the way to go. So he started the Tempest Chocolate company. Fast forward a few years later, and he's built up quite an online business, as well as being sold in many specialty stores. Not to mention, he's been picked up by nine Hannaford stores as well.
Not to shabby for a man making chocolate bars in his basement. According to WABI, he has a few different flavors he's featuring that include sea salt, a dark milk chocolate, almond and just a regular dark chocolate. He's hoping to explore new flavors as well, like blueberry, cranberry and various seasonal flavors.
At his website, the bars look amazing. I'm not even a super big chocolate fan, and I'd eat everything I looked at. If you want to check out his products online and order them, you can do that right here. Or, wait just a minute, and they'll likely be in a Hannaford near you.
