Even if things have changed a bit at Tri-City, it’s impossible to forget this catchy, iconic song!

If you are a resident of the Bangor area, Tri-City Pizza is just a way of life that follows you wherever you may go. In fact, I have a friend who lives in Arizona, who is currently in town visiting for the first time in a few years, and swear to god, he posted that as soon as he got off the plane, his first stop was to grab a Tri-Pie. That is how much this legendary pizza spot means to so many people.

However, there has been a bit of controversy, since R.H Foster Energy bought the business, back in June of last year. There are those who claim that they have made changes to the original formula that had been in existence for more than 50 years and that it just isn't the same. (Others, including workers there, say nothing has changed.)

I personally haven't noticed a major difference, except for the fact that they briefly replaced the classic round box for small pizzas, with boring regular square ones. I must admit, I wasn't a big fan of that particular move, but now I'm happy to report the round boxes are back!

Did you know that the Tri-City Pizza song was created by someone who works right here at Townsquare Media? Our production god, Thom Osborne, wrote and sang this piece of ear candy that has been used in TV and radio commercials for years. It is so popular that back in 2010, they had a contest, where people make their own ad to lip-sync to, with a chance to win two large pizzas every week for a year and have the commercial shown on TV.

Watch the video, and sing along, because we know you know the lyrics, “Triiiiiiiii City Pizza!” And be happy that this incredible Bangor institution is still around, even if it has changed a bit in the last year.
