When the ball drops in Bangor, the snow will be falling.

The National Weather Service is predicting that a storm will move into the region late Monday evening, bringing about two inches of snow to the Bangor area. Up to nine inches of snow is expected in parts of northern Maine.

Snow will begin in the Bangor at around 11 p.m., according to the latest models.

Forecasters are predicting snow could become heavy at times over central and northern areas between midnight and dawn. Snow Downeast will change to rain before dawn.
