Should Maine Move To The Atlantic Time Zone?

As we get ready to move the clocks ahead this weekend for Daylight Saving Time, Maine lawmakers are considering a move that would keep us there year-round. According to WMTW, there are two bills that will be looked at in Augusta next week - "An Act To Opt Out of Federal Daylight Saving Time and To Ask the United States Secretary of Transportation To Place the State in the Atlantic Time Zone" and "An Act Regarding Daylight Saving Time in Maine" will both be presented on Monday. If this sounds familiar, it's because similar bills were proposed back in 2017. The Maine House of Representatives gave initial approval to a plan to move the state to the Atlantic Time Zone, but only if Massachusetts and New Hampshire agreed to the change as well. Which makes sense, because being in a different time zone with neighboring state could cause quite a bit of confusion. I think it would be great for us to move to the Atlantic Time Zone.
