Sanitation Worker Struck and Killed on the Job in Milford
A sanitation worker was struck and killed by a trash truck in Milford on Tuesday.
Ryan Leeman, 39, of Bangor died in the incident.
It was just after 2 p.m. when the Penobscot County Sheriff's Office was called to a fatal accident on Oak Street. Officials say a Casella waste disposal truck that was working in the area had struck and killed Leeman, who was working outside the vehicle. No one else was hurt and no other vehicles were involved in the crash. Officials have not released the name of the truck's driver.
The sheriff's office is being assisted in the investigation by Milford and Old Town Fire Departments, the Maine State Police Commercial Vehicle Unit, and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
