Getting ready for a winter storm can take a lot of preparation. One of the ways we Mainers prepare is by stocking up at the grocery store a few days beforehand or the day before.

What Is On The Mainers Mind Before The Storm

We think, of course, about the necessities like the food we’ll need to be shut off from the world for a few days but we also need to prepare for what we will need to clean up the dooryard after the storm, what we need in case the power goes out, and what we will need to entertain ourselves in the midst of the blowing winds and accumulating snowfall.

Pre Storm Shopping

We wanted to know, with the first big storm at our doorstep and expected to start bringing a foot's worth of snow to our part of Maine, what do you plan on picking up today to get ready?

The storm is expected to have high winds so, you might be planning on picking up some things that will be useful in the event that the power goes out such as batteries, a flashlight, candles, or gas for the generator. There might even be some go-to food items that you would get for any big storm like bread, milk, rock salt or beer.
