Police Investigate ‘Serious Injuries’ To Maine Infant
A 6-month-old boy is being treated at Maine Medical Center after sustaining serious injuries inside his home earlier this month.
Police are investigating how the child, Blaze Wood of Vassalboro, sustained the injuries. At the time, the boy was living with his father, 23-year-old Dylan Wood at a home on Pooler Drive in Vassalboro.
The boy was taken to Maine General in Augusta on Jan. 2 and then flown by helicopter to Maine Medical Center the next day, according to a news release from Maine State Police.
The Kennebec Sheriff’s Office initially began the investigation and asked State Police to assist. Detectives have interviewed the father and continue to investigate how the baby was injured, as well as monitor the child’s condition.
We will update this story when more information becomes available.
