Police on Tuesday are investigating a death at a home on the Bayside Road in Ellsworth.

The Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit is assisting Ellsworth Police at the death scene, according to a news release from the Maine Department of Public Safety.

Police responded to the home Tuesday morning and found the body of a 64-year-old woman, according to WABI.

The cause of the death is pending the results of an autopsy, scheduled for Wednesday at the State Medical Examiner's Office in Augusta.

Police say there is no threat to the public.
