A transient suspected of robbing two Bangor-area banks was arrested in Ellsworth this week.

Sergeant Wade Betters of the Bangor Police Department says 27-year-old Timothy Myers is accused of robbing the TD Bank North branch, located on Stillwater Avenue in Bangor on December 21st, and robbing the Bangor Mall Boulevard branch of Key Bank on December 26th. No weapon was shown in either robbery and no one was hurt.

An ongoing investigation determined that Myers, who's considered a transient, was located in Ellsworth. Police say he's on probation for Theft and Forgery and is now charged with two counts of Robbery. Myers is being held without bail at the Penobscot County Jail.

The investigation and subsequent arrest were a collaboration between the Bangor Police Department, Ellsworth Police Department, the Hancock County Sheriff's Office, and the FBI.
