PCGames is reporting that one YouTuber, PippenFTS, is putting forth a challenge to build the earth in Minecraft.

How will he do this?  He has put together mods and real-life satellite data.  He also needs lots, and lots, and lots of players.

Reddit user JManorama posted to the r/Maine thread on Reddit seeing if anybody wanted to help make Maine "right".

For all of you Minecraft aficionados out there here's how it works, according to this PCGames article:

"The project uses two mods. The first is Terra 1-to-1, which pulls in data from sources like Google Maps to convert Earth data into Minecraft maps. The other is Cubic Chunks, which reformats Minecraft’s map layouts to remove the height limit for blocks – which lets mountains and valleys exist at their proper heights. But that’s just the work of existing Minecraft mods – PippenFTS wants to get much bigger with a project called Build the Earth. Terra 1-to-1 only brings in natural geological features – not human architecture – so Build the Earth is an effort to bring together a network of players to reconstruct every building on the planet by hand."

The video announcing the project (via Eurogamer) now has 7 million views, and the Discord where builders are signing up to build the Earth is at 50,000 members.

Alright, Minecraft Mainers, this is the moment you've been waiting for.  Here's where your skills will live forever in infamy.  Get to it and make us proud!
