Bangor Police say a pedestrian was seriously injured when they were struck by a vehicle on Summer Street.

At approximately 5 p.m. Tuesday on Summer Street, a car driven by Philip Perkins, 74, of Hampden, collided with pedestrian Peter McIntosh, 61, of Bangor. McIntosh, who suffered very serious injuries, was attempting to cross the road at the time of the accident, police said.

The investigation into this matter is ongoing and will likely take additional time to complete. At this this time, no charges have been filed.

The Bangor police encourage all motorists to be on the lookout for pedestrians and we strongly encourage pedestrians to use extra caution when crossing roadways, especially after dark.
