Pedestrian Struck and Killed on Route 15 in Bucksport

A pedestrian died on Tuesday afternoon when he was struck and killed while walking in Bucksport.

Police told WABI-TV that the man was walking in the breakdown lane, heading north along Route 15 in Bucksport at around 2:00 when a southbound vehicle crossed the center line and hit him. The name of the deceased has not been released, but officials say he was from out of state. The driver of the vehicle, who is a local resident, was taken to the hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The names of the people involved have not yet been released.
