Fun fact: I grew up in Orono, and remember very well a time where the Orono Public Library was located up in between Orono High School and Orono Middle School.

Another fun fact: I lived on Middle Street, which is literally around the corner from where the new Orono Public Library was built 10 years ago! I cannot believe it has been an entire decade! And the folks at the library, well, they're ready to celebrate this milestone with a party!

So on Saturday Septmeber 7th, make sure to put your party hat on and join in the festivities! The Library is located at 39 Pine Street in Orono, just past the Pat's Pizza parking lot, on the right hand side (if you're coming down from the Main Rd.)

According to their Facebook Event Page, there will be all sorts of kid-friendly activities like "Face Painting! Outdoor Story time! Building A fantasy library! We Love Our Library Community Quilt Art Project!" The 'Tough End String Band' will play some music starting up at 4:30. They will also be serving refreshments from local restaurants. And they'll even have some speakers, and go through a little history lesson about the library! The event is slated to take place from 4-6PM.
