Things must truly indeed be getting better.

We were informed today via a press release that Northern Light Health will begin to once again allow visitors to both Maine Coast Memorial Hospital in Ellsworth and also to Blue Hill Hospital in Blue Hill, starting tomorrow, Wednesday, May 19th.

Visitation to the two area hospitals will begin once again " Because of the downward trend of our community positivity rate as well as our desire to meet the needs of our community and patients", according to the press release.

Things will remain a little different than before the nasty COVID-19 pandemic set in, as patients will be allowed only one visitor per day between 12 noon and 6 p.m. for a maximum of two hours.

All visitors regardless of vaccination status will be required to wear a hospital grade face mask while they are within each hospital for their entire stay.

Northern Light Healthcare informs us that visitors may be asked to leave in the rare instance that medical services have to be administered in private.
