Folks in Brewer now have a new place to grab groceries. The Brewer IGA  opened its doors for business this week, posting a picture of their first costumers on their facebook page Wednesday.

Located in the former Save-a-Lot at 87 South Main Street, the owners have renovated the inside and changed the entire atmosphere of the place, according to folks who left reviews of the new business. One customer said "Great store! Organized nicely and big selection!"

The new IGA is open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Also opening for business this week was the new Firehouse Subs shop on Stillwater Ave. in Bangor. Just down the road from there, the Goodwill, which had closed to do some renovations, reopened. And my personal favorite bit of news of the week, Dairy Queen on Broadway in Bangor has opened for the season.

So much going on in Eastern Maine. And we'll do our best to always keep you updated on it!
