The City of Old Town has decided to take its popular "Summer Concert" series, and improve upon it this year.

The City revealed on its Facebook page earlier this week, an alternating schedule of local bands and family features to be held on Thursdays and Fridays throughout the summer, at Riverfront Park.

Events are scheduled to kick off the weekend of June 16th and go through the summer till the end of August.

So far, the bands on the lineup for this summer include the Crown Vic’s,  Larry & Leslie Latour, Atlantic Clarion Steel Band, Novel Jazz, Half Moon Jug Band, and the 195th Army Band.

They picked the movies based on input from the residents. They're planning to kick off the outdoor movie season with family favorite Encanto (PG), followed by Ghost Busters: The After Life (PG-13), Field of Dreams (PG), Madagascar (PG), Sing 2 (PG), Jungle Cruise (PG-13) and Free Guy (PG-13).

They do go on to say, in another post, that the movie titles could change based on the availability of each show, but for the most part, those are the ones they plan to show, based on the feedback they received.

There's even an opportunity to get in on some fundraising during these scheduled events, according to the Facebook post.

"If your local non-profit organization would like to sell concessions or if you have any questions please contact EJ Roach, Director of Economic & Community Development at eroach@old-town.org or 827-3965."

All concerts will begin at 6:30 PM. All movies are planned for around that time, but will begin around dusk.
