A member of the Maine State Police in southern Maine has tested positive for COVID-19.

Department of Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland says the member's name is not being released, but he and his family are doing well and in good spirits. His duty included working at the Maine Turnpike Weigh Station in York, along the northbound lanes. Upon learning of his test results, police shut down the weigh station and it has undergone a thorough cleaning by experts in the mitigation of COVID-19.

The CDC has conducted an investigation into who the man came into contact with, and State Police made notifications to anyone that would need to self-quarantine.
