If you’re not sure which candy to hand out in your hometown this Halloween, don’t worry! DoorDash compiled a report that has all of the info you need to have trick-or-treaters lining up around the block.

How did they do this? DoorDash looked at the receipts...literally.

They analyzed customer candy orders made between Oct. 1 and Oct. 31, 2024, because that’s when everyone was stocking up on all of their favorites for Halloween.

As we get closer and closer to Halloween, many of us have trick-or treating on our brains. In fact, our-co-worker Chris Popper is famous in these parts, for handing out giant-sized candy bars, so as you can imagine, he is a pretty big hit in his Bangor neighborhood, but when it comes to Maine's favorite candy of choice, it is not surprisingly, a chocolate legend.

When it was all said and done, the #1 choice from Mainers, was a bit of a shocker, since last year, it was the Moxie soda of all treats, the dreaded Candy Corn! Eww...

The highly popular Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, took the top spot. Really not that hard to believe, since it has been well established that chocolate & peanut butter go hand in hand, like the best friends they are.

How did our other New England neighbors choose? Check it out:

Massachusetts: Airheads
Rhode Island: Trolli
New Hampshire: Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups

So, if you find yourself out prowling on Maple Street, or whatever your "go to" spot in Bangor is, this Halloween, you might be surprised by what shows up in your bag.

In the entire United States, it is a mix of sweet & sour! Here is how the Top 5 choices break down:
