Let's take a look at the fall foliage report for this week, October 21st - October 27th, for the state of Maine.  Most of the state is past it's peak color and is now transitioning to barren trees and yards flooded with leaf piles.  The coast, DownEast, Midcoast and south, however, is currently reaching it's peak.

The Bangor area is past it's peak and we are seeing a lot of leaves on the ground now.  But if you still want to check out the best and brightest foliage viewing you'll have to trek to the coastal towns.

NATIONWIDE FALL FOLIAGE

Smokymountains.com has put up an interactive map so you can check out what's going on with the fall foliage nationwide.

This week, the Rocky Mountain states, New England and the northern midwestern states have reached or passed peak season.  Meanwhile states surrounding these areas ( immediately west of the Rocky's, middle plains states and East coast mid-states) are seeing moderate change with peak to arrive soon.

Since Maine is just about done with it's fall change over, we will keep you informed next year with the fall foliage report for Bangor, Maine and the nation.  Happy rest of your fall!
