Maine Congressman Jared Golden shared an addition to his family on social media on Saturday.

Golden and wife, Isobelle Calderwood Moiles or Izzy, have welcomed a new baby girl into the world as of Friday, May 14th. They named the newborn Rosemary and is reportedly healthy.  Mom and baby are doing good.

According to WABI, the Congressman took the week off from the hustle and bustle of Washington D.C. to welcome his new family member and be with his wife during the monumental occasion. Golden will be returning to Washington D.C. in time but, first, daddy duty comes first.

Also shared on social media, Golden changed his Twitter status to include "Proud Dad" next to his professional duties, "Resident of Lewiston. Raised in Leeds and trained in the Marines. U.S. Congressman putting Maine first."

This is Jared Golden and Isobelle Calderwood Moiles' first child.

Golden is the representative for the 2nd district of Maine in the House of Representatives. Golden was a Maine House of Representative for four years. He ran a U.S. House Representative campaign against a long-running Maine Representative, Bruce Poloquin, and won the race in 2018. Golden took office in January of 2019 and won a second term last November, when ranked-choice voting took place for the first time in a general election in Maine.

Golden lives in Lewiston, Maine with his wife, and now, his daughter Rosemary. In Golden's Facebook post he shared that he and his wife, Izzy, plan on staying in the state and sharing the Maine life with their new bundle of joy: "We look forward to showing her the beauty of Maine in the months and years ahead."
