Made In Maine: Maddox The Moose Children’s Book Is Published
The new children's book penned by Kelly Hinkle, a.k.a. The Downeast Cowboy, has officially been published and has hit the online bookshelves.
Maddox The Moose, is the brainchild of Kelly James Hinkle, a lobster fisherman and seaweed harvester from the Washington County town of Addison. If you're a Facebook user then you may be one of the 12,000 followers of the Downeast Cowboy, and have seen some of Kelly's beautiful photography work or video productions.
Mr. Hinkle tells us, ""I wrote the book last week on a rainy day. The book is about a moose name Maddox ( named after my son), who is in the beautiful state of Maine and has lost his family. He journeys through Maine trying to find his family," the author tells us. "On his way he visits the true Downeast Maine. Blueberry barrens. The rocky coastline of Maine. Even a lighthouse and then stumbles into a small town."

Kelly Hinkle has dedicated Maddox The Moose to his son, and within the book it reads, "May you enjoy the beautiful state of Maine as your journey through life. Just always know, no matter where your adventures take you, this will be home."
The author tells us the book can be real aloud to 1 to 4 year-olds, and that 4 to 7 year-olds would enjoy reading it on their own.
