Last week, Katy Perry got everyone up in arms when she kissed an American Idol contestant. The then 19-year-old Benjamin Glaze, who grew up in a conservative family, had never been in a relationship before and therefore never kissed a girl.

After the kiss aired, Glaze talked to some media outlets about how it made him feel "uncomfortable." The aspiring singer took to Instagram after the controversy spread to address the situation. In the lengthy post, he explained how some publications didn't accurately portray his feelings. " I do not think I was sexually harassed by Katy Perry and I am thankful for the judges comments and critiques," he explains. "I was uncomfortable in a sense of how I have never been kissed before and was not expecting it."

Perry's fellow judge, Luke Bryan, recently spoke about the situation with The Morning Show, agreeing that the incident had been exaggerated. “It’s unfortunate that stuff like that turns into a story that big,” he said. “I watched an actual interview where Ben, the kid that was involved, said that he was cool with everything.”

He went on to explain how criticism unfortunately comes with the territory: "I may say something one day that everybody’s not going to like. That’s just what you signed up for. At the end of the day, me and Lionel and Katy and Ryan, our hearts are in the right place.”
