The iconic movie that had people terrified to swim in the ocean, is back again!

Even thinking about the theme song gives you all the feels...and chills.

Just when you thought it was safe to skip the theater, "Jaws" is back! To celebrate its 50th anniversary, the legendary thriller returns to the big screen in Bangor for a limited time.

When an insatiable great white shark terrorizes the townspeople of Amity Island, the police chief, an oceanographer and a grizzled shark hunter seek to destroy the blood-thirsty beast.

Whether you're reliving the suspense, or seeing it for the first time, this re-release offers updated formats like IMAX, 3D, and 4DX for an unforgettable, end of summer experience.

"Jaws" will be back up on the big screen, from August 29th to September 4th, 2025, at Bangor Mall Cinemas, 663 Stillwater Avenue, in Bangor.

The film is widely known as the original summer blockbuster, the OG popcorn movie, and it changed the way movies are marketed and released, with a strategy that exists to this day.

This anniversary celebrates Jaws not merely as a great film, but as a landmark moment in cinematic history, and influencing generations of filmmakers, audiences, and pop culture.

Directed by a then relatively unknown, Steven Spielberg, Jaws was originally released on June 20, 1975, and instantly became a world-wide phenomenon, and caused a whole lot of panic at beaches everywhere.
