If you're like a lot of people these days, you’re probably working remotely and have the freedom to live just about anywhere you want. Since the pandemic, this has become the new norm for a ton of folks.

When it comes to relocating, there’s a lot to think about. As a realtor, one of the biggest things I’ve noticed is that parents are all about making sure their kids are in a good school system.

According to WalletHub, the best state is one that’s affordable. They also pointed out that safety, job opportunities, education quality, and healthcare are all big factors when parents decide where to move.

They crunched all the numbers and compared every state. If you're raising a child or children here in Maine, you apparently in a good place, as we ranked #6 in the country - we'll take that!

Our neighbors down south the took gold metal though. Massachusetts ranked as the best state in the US to raise a kid. WalletHub says it’s not just about the job market, but also that Massachusetts has a lot of safe areas for families.

Now, while housing and childcare might cost a bit more there, the high-paying job opportunities help to balance things out.

But hey, if you’re looking to stick around New England and don’t want to move to Massachusetts, you’ve got other options. Five out of the six New England states made the top 10 for best places to raise a family.
