Is The ‘Toilet House’ In Limerick, Maine A Protest or Interesting Decor?

Pick a nice day and drive down Route 5 in Limerick, Maine until you find the so-called 'toilet house'. Don't worry, it's hard to miss.

On Route 5 in Limerick, as I was driving along, I came upon a very busy and very odd scene. It's well-known in the town.

Why does this house in Limerick, Maine have toilets?

Rumor and Facebook comments have both said that it was a dispute over wanting to start some type of business and selectmen in Limerick would not give the permits needed. So the next thing you know, toilets appeared. Neighbors of the 'toilet house' say that he's a terrible neighbor and doesn't pay his taxes. I'm not saying either is true - just what people are saying.

The toilet population is growing at this property in Limerick, Maine

I was told by people familiar with the area, that the toilet collection has grown. And there are flowers (not sure if real or fake) in every, uh, pot.

There are levels of toilets. Upper deck and lower deck...so to speak. I also saw some for-sale signs on the property. I had to pull in quickly to turn around and get back on my way. But not knowing the address and having just rumors to go by, I went to Google.

This house in Limerick, Maine is famous and not for the toilets!

I thought it was fascinating that this house showed up in a Google search, not because of all the toilets - but because of Uncle Donald's Pig Farm. Roadside America has featured it but showed it closed as of 2015.  The farm has a pink VW Bus that looks like a pig, and little plastic pink cars that also have noses.

Although he said it was in Lyman, Maine, Adam stopped to investigate.

Whatever the story behind the so-called 'toilet house' is, it's definitely Maine. I'm just sad that Uncle Donald's Farm isn't a thing anymore. I'd love a ride in that pink VW!
