It's a right of passage for most parents; attempting to get their kids to take a picture with Santa. While some kids sit nicely and can produce a Christmas Card-worthy smile on command, some kids just cannot.

In an effort to make this task WAY less stressful for both kids and their parents, and to help a really great cause, the Orono Brewing Company has come up with an event to take the edge off of snapping a photo with the Jolly Old Elf. They're calling it 'Beers with Santa' and it sounds incredible.

According to OBC's 'Beers with Santa' Event Page, the event will take place on Sunday, December 15th from noon until 2 PM.

While kiddos sip on free cocoa and cookies, Mom and Dad can enjoy $5 pints of beer! And if Mom and Dad are chill and enjoying themselves, chances are that the kiddos will, too. And that's the perfect time to take a holiday picture: when everyone is all genuinely smiling.

But that's not all you'll have to smile about. That Sunday, OBC is also teaming up with Heart of Maine United Way for a special collection to help those in need.

"Orono Brewing has partnered with Heart of Maine United Way to collect new socks of all sizes to help support our neighbors."
