According to their Facebook Event Page,

"We definitely want Veterans to attend this event as well, but we would like to help family members living with veterans have a few more tools to help them when it's needed most.

We will have an array of guest speakers and multiple veterans organizations on site. There will be a block of time for questions and answers after the presentation."

Doc Goodwin, who runs the Maine Veterans Project, says he's not sure what the turnout will look like this year, but hopes the event will connect those living with and supporting veterans with skills, resources, and ideas that will empower these loved ones to better help their veteran loved ones.

"We are trying to get family members tools they can utilize to help a vet during a crisis," Goodwin says.

"We put this on for families because a veteran is most likely to find themselves in crisis during the hours that all of our organizations are closed. Because family members spend the most time with the veteran, they are the first line of defense. "
The event is scheduled to take place Sunday, April 7th from 11 AM to 2 PM at Jeff's Catering in  Brewer.
