Maine Teen Killed, 2 Hospitalized After Being Hit By a Vehicle

A 13-year-old boy is dead, and 2 others teens are in the hospital after being hit by a vehicle in Portland on Saturday.

The names of the three teens have not been released, but officials say a 13-year-old boy was killed, while two other teens were badly hurt in the crash.

Officials say a 48-year-old man from Portland was driving the vehicle.

Portland Police officers were called to 512 Warren Avenue at approximately 8:46 pm on Saturday, September 12, 2026, for a report of a collision involving a motor vehicle and three pedestrians.

The collision involved a group of juvenile males walking on the north side of Warren Avenue, towards Riverside Street, near the I-95 overpass, and a vehicle traveling in the same direction.

Police say the initial investigation appears to indicate the teens entered the roadway abruptly and were then struck by the vehicle.

A 13-year-old boy succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The other two teen boys, ages 14 and 15, were taken to the Maine Medical Center in Portland, listed as having serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Several other juveniles walking with the three teens were not hurt in the incident.

This investigation remains open and, so far, no charges have been filed.
