Eddington, Maine Vehicle Burglaries Remind Us to Lock Doors, Even at Home
These types of crimes are often avoidable simply by locking your vehicle at all times, including when it's sitting in your driveway.
The perpetrators will usually walk from driveway to driveway, checking the doors on the vehicles until they find one that's unlocked.
At that point, they will quickly reach into the vehicle, grabbing anything they can find, from wallets to CDs, electronics, even laundry detergent (which was once stolen from my car).
This case is a good reminder that summer is coming, and the crime opportunists will be checking for unlocked vehicles and houses to burglarize.
