Iconic Maine Landmark Featured in New Disneyland Attraction

The historic theme park in Anaheim, California, is rolling out a new attraction this year featuring a recognizable spot in Maine.

Disney Parks has shared new details about Soarin’ Across America, a new version of the fan-favorite attraction coming to Disneyland and Walt Disney World in celebration of America’s upcoming 250th anniversary.

The updated experience will take guests on a virtual flight over the nation’s natural wonders and iconic cityscapes, debuting May 25th at Epcot in Walt Disney World and July 2nd at Disney California Adventure.

Disney says Soarin’ Across America will send riders on a sweeping journey above some of the country’s most recognizable sights, from New York Harbor to Grand Canyon West and beyond.

The new experience will also feature New England, and with that mention, the reference photo Disney used is of the Portland Head Light in Cape Elizabeth.

Each scene in Soarin’ Across America is designed to highlight different parts of the country, including urban landmarks, natural scenery, and other iconic locations tied to America’s 250th anniversary.

The updated experience will also feature a new musical arrangement by Bruce Broughton of Jerry Goldsmith’s Soarin’ themes, along with ride programming, wind, and other effects intended to make the attraction more immersive.
