An Aroostook County man is facing charges after a fire at a mobile home he had been renting.

Aroostook County, Maine Man Charged with Arson for Mobile Home Fire

Walker Craig, 25, of Crystal, was arrested on Friday for arson and aggravated criminal mischief in connection with a fire at a mobile home in that town.

The charges stem from a collaborative investigation by the Houlton Police Department and the State Fire Marshal's Office.

Crystal, Maine Man Allegedly Tried to Burn His Rental Home

Craig was arrested on Friday in connection with a fire at 713 Crystal Road in Crystal during the early morning hours of Tuesday, August 25, 2026.

Officials say the Patten Fire Department responded to a small fire at the mobile home and called in the State Fire Marshal's Office.

Investigators determined that Craig allegedly tried to burn down the mobile home he had been renting.

Maine Man Accused of Starting a Mobile Home Fire is in Custody

Craig was transported by the Houlton Police Department to the Aroostook County Jail, where his bail was set at $10,000 cash.

At the last report, he remained incarcerated.

Officials have not commented on a motive for the fire or how it was started.
