Bangor Police Say an Unhoused Man Was Shot on Taft Street
Bangor Police are investigating after a man was shot on Taft Street.
Have They Identified the Shooter?
Detective Lieutenant Brent Beaulieu says it was approximately midnight when Bangor Police learned of a shooting in a parking lot on Taft Street. When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. The person who shot him was nearby. Taft Street is located off Maine Avenue.
Did the Two Men Know Each Other?
Police say both individuals are unhoused and live in their respective vehicles. Some sort of altercation broke out between the two of them, which resulted in one of the individuals being shot.
Police have not revealed the names of the men involved, or indicated whether the alleged shooter is facing charges.
How Badly Was the Victim Hurt?
The victim was taken to a local hospital and is being treated for his injuries. Detectives and evidence technicians worked through the night. This incident remains under investigation.
