Bangor, Maine Man Arrested for Alleged Violent Domestic Assault

A Bangor man is facing charges for an alleged violent domestic assault.

Bangor, Maine Police Arrest a Local Man on Domestic Violence Charges

Axel-Rodney Brooks, 38, of Bangor, was arrested on Sunday, February 8.

Bangor Police Officers were called to a residence on Sunday for a report of a couple fighting.

When they arrived, the officers encountered a woman who was eventually transported to a local hospital to be treated for her injuries.

Bangor, Maine Man Allegedly Threatened a Woman and Her Friend

When they interviewed her, the woman told officers that she was allegedly threatened and assaulted by Brooks over the course of the weekend. That assault allegedly included her being knocked unconscious and choked.

The victim told authorities that one of her friends came to visit and was asked to call the police.. The friend said Brooks had allegedly threatened to assault her, as well, if she made the call.

They said Brooks then left in a vehicle.

Bangor, Maine Man Faces Multiple Domestic Violence Charges

Police were able to locate Mr. Brooks and took him into custody.

He's charged with:

• Domestic Violence aggravated assault
• Domestic Violence criminal threatening
• Criminal Threatening.
