When it comes to flying out of the Pine Tree State, we're pretty fortunate to have a couple major airports and several major airlines to choose from. This is especially cool given the rather small population of Maine compared against its vast size.

And, at least I would argue, that one of the most frequently flown-to destination from Maine, just so happens to be Florida. Is there any actual statistics to back that up? Probably, but I'm too lazy to go looking for them so you'll just have to take my word for it.

And while it's super-easy to fly from Maine to Florida from Bangor and Portland, most of those flights are usually pricey and involve at least one layover. Well, lo and behold, there is now another non-stop option that just became available and, at least for now, it's wicked-friggin-cheap!

According to WABI, Allegiant Air has just started offering non-stop flights from Maine's Bangor International to Punta Gorda, Florida. And the best part, aside from no layovers, is the price!
