Ideas For Your Pumpkin Design for Belfast’s Pumpkin Pageant
Get your pumpkin carving and painting skills up to par because Belfast is bringing a pumpkin pageant to the fall festivities.
Saturday, October 30th Waterfall Arts is hosting 'Belfast's Great Pumpkin Pageant' at Belfast Waterfront Steamboat Landing.
This event not only has you showing off your artistic pumpkin decorating skills but also gives you an opportunity to show off your Halloween costume the day before Halloween.
At 10 AM those wanting to take part in the pumpkin pageant will line up in their costumes and pumpkins in a procession to the Steamboat Landing field where pumpkins will be placed and be up for display all day long. The public will get to look over the contestants' work and choose to vote for the spookiest pumpkin, the most creative pumpkin and the most skillfully done pumpkin.
And, pumpkins are provided! Get your pumpkin at the YMCA Trunk or Treat this Saturday, October 24th or stop by Waterfall Arts to get your pumpkin.
Here are some ideas for your pageant entry for the 30th!
Keep it simple
A well-carved pumpkin doesn't have to be complicated. Simplicity can be key to a well executed design.
Paint your pumpkin
Try painting your pumpkin instead of carving into it. It will be colorful and may really stand-out from your competition
Try a cute face
There's nothing more cunnin' than an adorable jack o'lantern. If it makes people smile, then you've already won, right?
Flirty pumpkin face
A flirty face may be the one that gets attention from the voters. A sense of humor goes a long way with any contest, but especially a pumpkin pageant.
Try out something other than a face
There is so much more to Halloween than a jack o'lantern face. Try a ghost or a witch to stick out from the rest.
Good luck to the contestants! And don't forget to grab your free pumpkin for the pageant at Waterfall Arts or at this weekend trunk or treat by the YMCA. More info on this event at the Facebook Event page.
