The northbound lanes of I-95 in Bangor, near Exit 185, were closed this morning because of a multi-vehicle accident.

UPDATE: The Maine Department of Transportation says traffic is moving again in the northbound lanes of I95.

We spoke with a Maine State Police dispatcher who confirmed to us that there are several vehicles involved in this accident, but she didn't have an exact number. There's no word about injuries, but a Bangor Police dispatcher told us at least one ambulance had been sent to the scene.

Both lanes of northbound traffic are closed at this hour, in the area around the Broadway exit of I-95 in Bangor. Drivers are asked to avoid the area until the accident can be cleared. The highway is being salted, but is said to be very icy after an early morning snowfall.

We'll update this story as more details become available.
