How Will Covid-19 Affect Halloween This Year? Take Our Poll
According to recent news reports, major candy manufacturers, like Hersey, are sending stashes of Halloween candy to suppliers early this year, for Covid-19 will have an impact on candy sales for 2020. The thought is that people may opt to skip out on going trick-or-treating or to Halloween parties this year. It's certainly not out of the realm of possibility, as many parents we've spoken to this year are erring on the side of caution when it comes to outings with their kids.
One CNN.com article says manufacturers are trying to find other ways to boost their candy sales in preparation for what could be a very different Halloween season.
"Halloween typically accounts for 10% of Hershey's annual sales. In addition to extending the season, Hershey is trying to shore up sales by limiting the "seasonally dressed" offerings and manufacturing more candy in everyday packaging...The packages popular during Halloween — the multi-pack bags with individually wrapped "fun size" candies — have sold well during the pandemic pantry-stocking, said Christopher Gindlesperger, senior vice president of public affairs and communications for the National Confectioners Association, a trade organization that promotes the candy, chocolate, gum and mint industries."
What are your thoughts on Halloween? Do you plan to participate in any way? Or do you have alternative ideas for spooky but safe celebrations?

As for my family, I feel an evening of gorging ourselves on a big bag of candy, and watching Haliooween movies in our PJs. Pretty much the usual since Covid hit!
