We all know Al Brady and the story of the Brady Gang in Bangor. There was a dramatic conclusion that resulted in the notorious American gangster, wanted by the FBI and running from the law, being fatally shot in Downtown Bangor.

But did you know the body of Al Brady was buried right here in Bangor at Mount Hope Cemetery?  Not only that, but that it's an unmarked grave in the cemetery?

How did I not know this?!  This is the thing conspiracies are made of!

The Bangor Historical Society is doing tours of the Mt. Hope Cemetery to show you where the gangster is buried.

Also included in the tour are the graves of some of Bangor's most famous residents including Vice President under Abraham Lincoln Hannibal Hamlin, early Maine pioneer Thomas Howard, and Ernest Hemingway friend and travel companion and renowned American artist Waldo Pierce.

  • Saturday, June 9th, 6 PM - 7:30 PM
  • Saturday, June 16th, 10 AM - 11:30 AM
  • Saturday, June 23rd, 6 PM - 7:30 PM
