Here Are The Most-Dangerous Neighborhoods in Bangor [UPDATE]
When you live in a city the size of Bangor -- as nice as it may be -- some areas are bound to be rougher than others.
It's a cool city, no doubt. With that in mind, we decided to take a look at the safest and most dangerous areas of the Queen City. Neighborhood Scout ranked Bangor's eight neighborhoods on several criteria including their crime rates.
While the numbers might not tell the whole story, they do give us a general idea of crime in the city. For instance, the numbers tell us that Bangor's violent crime rate of 1.85 crimes per 1,000 people is better than the national average of 3.8 per 1,000 people. However, Bangor's property crime rate of 40.97 is way above the national average of 26 per 1,000 people.
Breaking down the numbers a little further, we also can conclude that living on the east side of the city appears to be safer than the west side.
The list is based on violent and property crimes such as homicide, rape, armed robbery, burglary, aggravated assault, motor vehicle theft and arson.
Below are Bangor's eight neighborhoods ranked from safest to most dangerous. You can click on the name of the neighborhood for more details.
