Get the wits scared out of you, and support an important cause at the same time!

If you love Halloween, animatronics and supporting a good cause then this is the event you don’t want to miss. Once again a family in Brewer will team up with Hope for Homeless and have their annual Haunted Halloween Display, to help raise money for local homeless shelters.

This event is typically only open on Halloween night for Trick or Treaters, but this year it will be on Saturday and will feature some cool animatronics that they use to create scenes. From the witch's den to the butcher shop, a floating girl, and many more will give you a cool haunted house experience.

There will be a pop-up sale of treats, with 50% of all sales going to Hope for Homeless. The event is free, but donations are encouraged.

They also would like to collect items that are on the high-needs list for the shelter. Those items include creamer, sugar, coffee, hand warmers, men's gloves, sweatshirts, sweatpants, and hoodies. Gift cards for BJs, Sam’s Club, and Amazon are also welcome as this is where they purchase most of their supplies.

The house is located at 46 Whitney Center in Brewer and the event will take place Saturday night from 5-8 pm. We do NOT recommend this event for young children but leave that up to the parents' discretion.

If you never check out animatronics, this video will get you in the mood for this weekend.

Speaking of haunted houses, Maineiac Manor at the Bangor Mall, will have some expanded hours for Halloween weekend:
Friday, 6-10 PM.
Saturday, 5-10 PM.
Sunday, 5-10 PM.

Keep in mind, that the mall closes at 7 PM on Friday and Saturday, and at 5 PM on Sunday, so you will have to enter Maineiac Manor, at the open door between JCPenney and the furniture store. There, you will find a giant, inflatable clown archway. Simply walk through it, and keep walking into the store until you reach the check-in counter.

Happy a safe and Happy Halloween, and enjoy all the fun!
