Get Rid Of Your Extra Stuff And Help Build Homes! Restock The ReStore
If you have plans to do some Spring Cleaning in the near future, the folks at Habitat for Humanity of Greater Bangor have a suggestion for you: donate your extra and used items to Restock the ReStore!
Eric Jolliff, Community Engagement Coordinator for Habitat for Humanity of Greater Bangor, says the ReStore will be having a huge donation drive called "Restock the ReStore", on Saturday, April 22nd at their storefront at 378 Harlow Street in Bangor.
"The ReStock the ReStore event is intended to encourage community members to support Habitat and its ReStore by donating gently used household furniture, appliances, or building materials that they no longer need. The ReStore accepts donations Tuesday – Saturday year-round, but this is a prime time for people to kick start their spring-cleaning projects and clear some of the reusable clutter in their home without putting it in the landfill."
Jolliff says they'll be accepting a wide variety of donations including building materials, hardware, lumber, furniture, and home decor, along with a bunch of other things. For a detailed list of what they'll accept, click here.
If you have things to donate but need them collected, you can set up a pick-up by calling the ReStore at (207) 992-0704.
The Darlings Ice Cream truck will also be on hand from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM, giving away free ice cream and collecting donations.

All the proceeds collected or made that day will be donated to Habitat for Humanity of Greater Bangor. Restocking the ReStore will allow the shop to continue to support the local build projects that Habitat sponsors.
Also taking place that Saturday is the Downtown Bangor Spring Clean Up and Bangor's Earth Day Celebration. So this is an excellent way to reduce, reuse, and recycle in celebration of these great activities.
