This dude loves him some Maine lobster.
Mark Wiens is a self-proclaimed "full-time eater" and people seem to be enjoying his food adventures because he has 7.8 million subscribers for his entertaining videos. He recently took a lobster tour in Maine, and that video has racked up an impressive 595,000 views in just a few days!
It's pretty amazing that people from all over the world clamor for something we probably take for granted because we live here. And in fairness to places in the Bangor area, there are a ton of establishments that offer this tasty Maine treat, and Mark hit four of the best in the state.
Five Islands Lobster Co. is perched on an active fishing wharf, on the edge of Sheepscot Bay, in Georgetown, Maine. Rumor has it that they have the most delicious and sought-after lobsters in all of New England.
Stop number two was at Day’s Crabmeat & Lobster in Yarmouth. They have been cranking out hand-picked crabmeat, Maine lobster, and steamed clams since the 1920s.
Red’s Eats in Wiscasset, claims to be the "Home Of Maine’s #1 Lobster Roll". That may or may not be true, but they do serve up a pretty rad Whoopie Pie, and a celebrity or two has been known to stop by. Warning: They are always busy, and sometimes the line to order can get pretty deep, so be prepared to wait.
Mark's last stop on his tour of Maine, was the legendary, McLoons Lobster Shack, at 315 Island Rd, in South Thomaston. This gorgeous Wooden shack is famous for freshly landed lobster that looks out onto the water where they were caught.
So, if you plan to travel the state this summer, any of these places will give you an excellent lobster roll experience to enjoy.
Happy travels!
