Want a great road trip idea? Check this out.

Looking for a reason to get out of town?

As if we aren't spoiled enough here in Maine, particularly in the Bangor area, with a ton of incredible concerts each and every year, there are even more options when you explore the rest of the state.

One of the great things about living here, is the number of places you can travel to in the warmer months, so how about another road trip idea?

Over the last several years, the flagship location of L.L. Bean in Freeport has been hosting a "Summer in the Park” live concert series, which just happens to be free to the public.

They have snagged some pretty big names over the years, including artists like Gavin DeGraw, The Fray, Melissa Etheridge and others.

Another summer season is about to begin, with a lineup of shows to enjoy outdoors, and best of all, they are free to the public.

Here is the "L.L.Bean Summer in the Park" schedule:

GoldenOak

July 5

Fronted by siblings Zak and Lena Kendall, GoldenOak’s music is rooted in rich folk-influenced sibling harmony.

Black Cat Road

July 12

Black Cat Road is a musical ensemble known for their distinctive blend of roots, blues, and soul music.

Louisa Stancioff

July 19

She has quickly established herself as one of the premier musical artists in Maine. Her sound is a mix of folk, rock, and pop.

This is just the beginning, more shows will be added to the mix, throughout the summer, so stay tuned!

You can grab a spot on the grass to enjoy the show. Guests are welcome to put out chairs starting at 6 a.m. They have a no blankets policy on the lawn.
