Heads up everyone!

There are few things more annoying in life, than robocalls, junk e-mail, and spam texts. It seems like this ridiculous phenomenon is getting worse and worse as time goes by.

Its important to pay attention to these things, because there a lot of people out there looking to make a buck off of you.

If you are scrolling through Facebook this morning, there is no doubt you have seen people posting about a text they received, from the Maine Department of Motor Vehicles, stating that they will enforce "final notice" penalties, starting tomorrow on June 10th.

It states to the recipient that their traffic violations remain unpaid, and could result in a suspension of vehicle registration, a 30-day suspension of their driving license. and possible legal prosecution, and credit rating damage, amongst other things.

It then gives you a link to make an immediate payment. Do NOT click on the link, because it is a total fake scam, so you can take a deep breath and relax!

So far this morning, the Brewer Police Department has received multiple reports of folks getting this text message today, and they took to Facebook to address the matter.

They ask that if you have questions about your driving status, that you contact the BMV directly at 207-624-9000.
