Fairfield Police are asking for the public's help identifying a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run accident that sent the victim to the hospital.

Officials first became aware of the crash when a woman called the police department just before 1:00 Monday morning and told them her nephew had come home with physical injuries. Officers responded and learned that 30-year-old Colby Dyer had been hit by a vehicle.  At last report, he was in critical care in the hospital.

An investigation determined the vehicle was travelling northbound on Route 139/104, also known as the Norridgewock Road, but no description has been released. Police have interviewed a witness that said they saw Dyer laying in the roadway and found that they were not the driver in the accident.

Anyone with information about this accident is asked to call Fairfield Police at 453-9393.
