It looks like another Downtown Bangor Business will be closing it's doors for good at the end of this month.

Since opening last year, Teas & Tarts has quickly become a favorite spot for many who live and work downtown. Featuring a cozy atmosphere with yummy treats and beverages, Teas & Tarts also offered the Bangor community vegetarian and gluten-free options, which many residents appreciated.

But then the Covid-19 pandemic hit, and businesses across the state were forced to close for months.

And as so many businesses in the state have experienced, the road to recovery, after an shut down like that, is difficult, and for some, impossible.

In a post issued on the Teas & Tarts Facebook Page this weekend, it seems that the shut down has claimed yet another small business, as they announced with heavy hearts that they would be closing their downtown location.

"We did everything we could to try and get through this pandemic, but we've reached the point where we won't be able to recover. We will remain open for our regular hours until Oct 31, and will be putting out the same quality food and tea that we always have until the very end...This is not the end of the road for us. We will, somehow, find a way for Tea & Tarts to live on, but for now it just won't be in person at 20 State St."

Once the announcement had been made, messages started to pour in from those who are sad to see this business go. Everyone seemed to understand their reasons for having to close, as so many other area businesses have been forced of the economic impact of these shut downs. But that didn't stop folks from reaching out in support and encouragement of the young business.

Teas & Tarts joins a list of other Bangor businesses that have closed this year, including Nicky's Cruisin Diner, Jersey's Subs and Bangor Escape Rooms, to name a few.
