Downtown Bangor Welcomes New Donut Shop, The Donut GroVe
Downtown Bangor continues to add new businesses to its diverse selection of shops. In recent months we've seen the addition of Solstice Nutrition, a tea room and shake bar, Angel Connection, metaphysical shop and spiritual learning center, and now we welcome a new donut shop to the Bangor area and right in Downtown, Donut GroVe.
The shop is located in the old Fork and Spoon location on Main Street in Downtown, between Bangin' Whoopie and the Maine Children's Museum. This past weekend was a soft opening where they welcomed the public in to try their delicious donuts.
The selection is all vegan and provides a variety that would tempt anyone with a bit of a sweet tooth. The flavors included chocolate with peanut butter frosting. maple glazed, potato donut, and molasses. The cafe also has hot coffee ready to serve.
These bakers are a staple in the Farmers Market scene but have decided to set up shop year-round so we can take in their small-batch, hand-made donuts. Like mentioned, the donuts are vegan and also made with organic ingredients.
The cafe sells coffee and other food items as well. They showcase a few local products including Fiore Olive Oils out of Winterport and Farm House Roasters Coffee out of Ellsworth.
Currently, they are taking pre-orders on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday for pick-up in-store on Saturday and Sunday. We are waiting on a grand opening date very soon and will have to keep an eye on their Facebook for that date.
Follow 'Donut GroVe' on Facebook and check out their donuts for yourself by visiting them Saturdays and Sundays at 76 Main Street, the old Fork & Spoon location, in Downtown Bangor between Bangin' Whoopie and the Children's Museum.
